BioThera Solutions was founded to address a critical gap in the extracellular vesicle (EV/exosome) field: the absence of scalable, standardized, and reproducible manufacturing required to bring EV technologies of all kinds into real-world application. We set out to build that infrastructure as a platform, not a single product, and to lay the foundation for every application that comes after the first.

We are building that infrastructure, and we started where the need was most immediate. Interest in exosome-based skincare has grown quickly, driven by genuine scientific interest and consumer demand, yet the market is crowded with products making bold claims, backed by inadequate characterization, inconsistent particle concentrations, and little regulatory transparency. There is real demand, and a real absence of material that meets rigorous scientific standards.
BioThera was built to close that gap. We bring biomanufacturing expertise to a space that has been underserved by rigorous science: characterization in line with MISEV2023, measured particle concentrations, and documentation for every batch. Our research and development has produced proprietary, patent-pending technology and the capacity to manufacture at scale. For cosmetic applications, we license our technology exclusively to Vesera™, a skincare company, and produce the material it uses.
Cosmetic applications are where the platform first meets the market, and they are only the beginning. The infrastructure we are building, from manufacturing and characterization to the evidence base, is designed to carry across biological sources and applications. Our current platform uses plant-derived vesicles; as we grow, our research extends to animal-derived sources, including human stem cell-derived vesicles, and to therapeutic applications, an important focus for our team.
Build the integrated extracellular vesicle platform the field has been missing: standardized, characterized vesicles, engineered to work across biological sources, for applications that begin with cosmetics and extend well beyond them.
With cosmetic applications as our first commercial use, we are establishing the manufacturing infrastructure, characterization rigour, and evidence base that credible EV applications, including therapeutic ones, require.
To define what credible, science-led EV technology looks like, and to build the biomanufacturing backbone the extracellular vesicle field needs to mature, across every application it reaches.
We are in the early chapters of the EV era. Our ambition is to set the standard for the field by building the manufacturing foundation, characterization rigour, and evidence base that scientists, clinicians, partners, and regulators can trust.

Our mission is to build the integrated platform that extracellular vesicle technology requires, from research and intellectual property to manufacturing, across the sources and applications of extracellular vesicles.

Our governance practices are aligned with Health Canada cosmetic notification requirements, and our scientific reporting follows MISEV (Minimal Information for Studies of Extracellular Vesicles) guidelines.
